I am not well-versed on the state of affairs in the LED manufacturing world, so I am wondering...
As new LEDs become available in what seems like shorter and shorter intervals, are the big manufacturers like Cree actively pursuing runtime/efficiency as WELL as lumens - or is the efficiency just a byproduct of better technology? It appears that LED lumens are increasing at a much steeper exponential rate, than the efficiency of them.
IMO, I would much rather see dedicated RD efforts go into efficiency, than increased lumens - but that doesnt appear to be the industry direction(?)
