Im looking for short flashlights that stick with a common cr123 lithium battery.

Im looking at the novatec lights and sort of settled on the 120T, it seems to be the shortest at 3inches and runs on 1 cr123 120lumen output. They are also tough lights, hopefully will stand up to the beating i'll give it.

Is there anything better or Shorter?

I consider the older Novatac lights great! The fit, finish, programability (some), and the feel in my hand is wonderful. They may not be the brightest, but they are.... well... a flashlight. They are easy to pocket, easy to use, and reliable. They also work well on RCR123 batteries. I own several of them. I do not own any new Novatac lights because of the comments made by other CPRers. If I were to look for another Novatac, I'd search the MarketPlace for a used older model 120T.

You should also look up the 250 click hack thing that allows you to enter the programming mode like on the P model. I doubt they've fixed the loophole.
