Combining Multiple LEDs Into One Diode

Today I was examining a multi led light that I own & I became curious if any manufacturer has tried to make a light by combining more than one led into a single diode. I am talking about removing the little square light emitting part & combining several of them onto a single PCB. This way there would be a single, large, panel of light instead of multiple individual leds. A design like this could be concave or convex too. I couldn't find anything in a search. Has anyone seen a light like this?

The Cree MC-E is effectively 4 LED's on one package. The SSC P7 is the same.

I googled the Cree MC-E. Yeah. That's pretty much what I was envisioning. It looks like the Cree MC-E has the capability to produce four seperate colors from the same lamp. I didn't know that existed.

Check out the luminus csm-360. THAT's a multi-die led. Then if you want to get a real tingle, check out the feilong brand flashlight that retails for $658 and uses one in a handheld super torch.

EDIT: It's basically FOUR sst-90 dies on a single pcb. Mwahahahaha!

Impractical as they would be, I'd love to have a light with one of those in it. :D:D:D
