OK to run a 3x17670 M6 Battery adapter with just two 17670's?

OK to run a 3x17670 M6 Battery adapter with just two 17670's without any issues to the adapter, batteries or lamp assembly? Would this work like a 2x18650 battery adapter?

Is your adapter serial or parallel? If it is arranged with the three batteries in series, then no, this wouldn't work. Parallel it would.

Could use a dummy cell in a serial circuit I suppose.

There's an old thread somewhere on here by DM51 with all the li-ion rechargeable options for the M6.

With the MN21, 2s 18650 works but is too much current drain for the cells (need to double click) and the bulb is overdriven. 2s 17670 is definitely not OK.
Should be OK with the MN20 though.

You can make a dummy size of protected 17670 to use with this type adapter. In this case, total nominal output voltage will be 7.4 volt and maximum current shouldn't be more than 3.2 Amps. (2C)
However, if voltage of IMR 26500 works for your need, then Deep M6 Tail Cap system will allow you to use 2 IMR 26500 which has more capacity and more current capability.

I just ordered and took delivery of three of those from you last week (post # 181).

I'm not sure how to make a dummy size protected 17670. I have the dummy 123's but have never seen a 17670 one. I was thinking I could just use two 17670's rather than three. Do you think that would work?

I've made lots of dummy batteries. 1/2" aluminum cut to length & covered with shrink tube would do. A little shaping with a file on one end would help. With 2 17670 batteries you could run a WA1111 in a FM bipin adapter. There are probably lots of other 2 cell lights that would work. I'm not sure why you don't want 3 17670 batteries with a WA1185 or a Lumens Factory HO-M6R. In a serial battery holder, you need a battery (or a current carrying dummy) in each location, or you are breaking the circuit - quite simply, current cannot flow through the circuit if you leave a battery space empty.

I only ask because I was wondering if I can use the same battery holder to run both 11.1 volt and 7.4 volt applications.

I am currently use 3x17670's in the FM battery adapter to run a LF HO-M6R lamp. I was thinking that I could also use the same battery adapter to power up LF's HO-M3T and EO-M3T lamps as well as a Surefire MN15 lamp in a pinch. It appears that if I add two CR123 dummy cells in-line I could run two 17670's and these other lamps. Of course I would not do this as a regular way of powering the light but thought it would be good to know if I ever needed to run the light this way.

Yes, that would be fine once you add in the dummy cells to fill the slot that doesn't have a live cell in it.
