Does your Fenix TK35 have a small black spot at the center of the beam?

When I shine my TK35 at a wall I see a small black spot at the center of the beam at all lumen levels.

Is this normal? Does yours do that?

I look at the emitter under the lens and there looks to be a small "bump" at the center (which I think is what causes the black spot when the beam is reflected on the wall.) But is this how that XM-L emitter supposed to look---with a slight bump at the center?

It's not a doughnut hole. It's something else. When I got my first TK35 I also had that very tiny black spot, almost like a bug was following the light around. I was completely ticked and sent it back for a replacement. The replacement does not have that black spec.

I've got a tk35 coming Thursday. I'll see if it has the black spot.

Mine does not have a black spot, speck, or donut hole unless I hold it about 2 to 3 inches from the wall. Otherwise, nothing but a beautiful shiny white spot.

Shane45 1911:

The farther away from the wall the clearer (and so more bothersome) is the black spot.

I have returned the light for that reason.

Mine came in today. No black spot or donut hole. Looks great to me.
