I made a 3AA light a few years back using two 2AA lights. The short explanation, I made a press fit of the two bodies in the knurled area. The picture of this 12D does not show how he attached the two bodies. I would be concerned about the strength of the connection on something that big.

That's a good point actually, I just assumed he would have threaded the extension like fivemega's but in that case he would just sell the extension and not the whole light.

Threading the two parts together would work. I am not sure which would give a stronger connection (press fit or threaded together). Either of the methods are relatively easy to do on a big enough lathe.

Great mag though, wonder how heavy it is? My camping light is a hip bender after a mile
