Thought I would post my latest light build, a triple XML with hipflex driver and triple cute optics. The battery pack is a 2400mA 14.8v so I should get a couple of hours on full. Mode selection is via a remote thumb switch so i can always have my hands on the bars. There is a stat led mounted on the rear cover to warn of battery voltage getting low.

The light was machined from 50mm square 6061 bar then polished and anodized.

I haven't wired it up yet so beamshots and heat stress testing are still to come.

The complete head comes in at 270g which is more than I would like so a MK3 housing is on the cards to shave some weight. That being said it's 65²in surface area should thermally perform very well and since I live in Australia I need a light that can handle full power on a hot summer night and being fitted an AM bike weight is not really an issue.

Here's a few pics of the build.

Well if you can't see the trial with that, you need your eyes checked! Very nicely done.

Thanks for the positive comments guys. It is always great to see a new build come to life.

I have modified the above housing and have managed to drop 55g from the weight. Now just to find some machining time for the MK3.

That shouldn't be a problem - I hear there are a couple of public holidays in the next week :)
ps I've been told I'll be sleeping in the shed if i "make things" over this time - maybe best to make us wait.
