Hi folks - at the beach for the weekend and brought a few lights down - including a few old favorites and a few new - even a couple of "exotics."
All photos un-retouched - camera is a Canon 40D with a Sigma F2.8 18-50
Shutter at 2 seconds - ISO at 400 - f/4.0 - with the exception of the daytime shot.
Lights are labeled - most are well known, with the exception of the Niwalker which I 'introduced and abused' over here. All lights were on their highest setting.
Here's a daylight view of the lighted area - pay particular attention to the green plants in the foreground and the end of the dock in the background
Now the same view after dark
Up first - an old favorite. Outclassed here, but still a great little light. The Surefire E2E - totally stock running on 2 Surefire primaries
Here's an interesting little light - a legacy HDS Clicky 170 that I modified with a Nichia 219 emitter...a bit warm for me, but some of you may love this....
Here's perhaps my favorite beam shape and tint from my entire collection - the Prometheus Alpha Blue Label, 4500k MC-E emitter. Beautiful floody beam!! I've said before that this is the best beam I've ever seen...
Here's an exotic for you - and this is my 24/7 EDC. The amazing Cool Fall Spy 007, this one with a cool XPG. Please learn more about this TINY light over here...
And a relative unknown, the Niwalker NWK550. An XML Throw Monster. Again, I abused it HERE
HOLY COW. This thing is a beast. Malkoff quality, one of the most pure white beams I've seen in quite a while, and a veritable powerhouse of a light. I LOVE this thing - it has a great low - around 44 lumen on mine, but on high this thing imposes its light on every nook and cranny. Love it. I measure 1308 OTF lumen from mine within 10-15 seconds of turn on.
Here's a short video of all the shots above - sometimes it's easier to compare
Hope you enjoyed it!
