build my first modified flashlight

Hey everyone,
I am want to build my first modified flashlight. I haven't advances technical or electronic knowledge, so I am need a project which I can build easily without many technical knowledge, and if I will succeed, I will try a harder projects, after I learn and get better technical knowledge..
my budget is only 50$ max for all what I need- host, led/incandescent bulb,batteries etc. (I have a Mini Maglite 2AA incandescent, two 14500 batteries and the Xtar WP2 charger,if it can be useful and save money)
so can someone help me? do you have idea for me for my first flashlight building project? maybe upgrading Mini-Maglite or something?
It doesn't matter for me if it will be incandescent flashlight or a Led flashlight,the size of the flashlight also doesn't matter,I am only need a easy project which I can do without many technical knowledge...
please give me an idea...

18650 batteries will not fit in a mini maglite. You will need something like a 14500 battery if you are going the li-ion route.

Check out my thread where I moddified a mini maglite.. Might give you some ideas?

About the 18650, it's my wrong,I meant to write 14500,but I Mistakenly wrote 18650.
thanks about the idea,but I want something brighter, what about building XML mini maglite? is it easy? because as I said,I haven't advanced technical and electronic knowledge,
it's my first project...
so,what do you think about building XML mini maglite?
