I have an old Inova X5 UV light. It works on most of them, but some like the red strip in 100s it doesn't seem to light up? The banks UV lights seem to work on all of them and I'm not sure why mine doesn't light them all up. What is different about the banks UV light machine then my old Inova X5 UV?

Is the wave length maybe not the same? What would be a good light UV light for bills?

FWIW u might try to find an old Arc AAA UV-P. it is not that bright but the UV tint is superb. I also use a Solarforce body 18650 cell and a UV drop in from Lighthound. that is brght and it does work. i use mine on occason while in check out line before the cashier can check a $50 with "that magic pen" I hightlight that bill with my UV beam and the currency strip is apparent to all.

I highly recommend the Streamlight Night Com UV. It has six UV LEDs, three each of two different wavelengths. Lighthound has them on sale for $39.
