Titanium Clip added to Malkoff MD2

First the clip had to be bent to match the 1 inch od of the body. I made a little jig and pressed it in the vise. See the slight curve on the top.




Next I took the tailcap apart.


clamped the tailcap in the mill and drilled/tapped one hole for a 2-56 bolt


Rolled the tail cap and drilled the second hole.


Tapped the second hole. VERY easy to tap a 2-56 threaded hole in aluminum.


Put the clip on and tighted down the screws. Here it is next to the Old Style MD2 and Tail cap Malkoff used to sell. That body/clip have been my EDC for years.







I carried this all day today and I love it.

do you think this'd fit okay on your MD1 mods?

That particular clip won't but I did but a deep carry clip that might work. I will try it out soon and post pictures.....

Put a clip on a MD1 tonight. The deep carry clip works well on the MD1.

I want to put together an MD1 with a pocket clip that allows it to tail stand. Not that I will stand it but like the look.

I did not see a clip that will go on an MD1 and allow it to tail stand. The only clips that appear to be short enough are the "deep carry" clips which (as in the above pictures) stick off the tail and won't let it tail stand (unless on the very edge of a table).
