Vectorial Illumination

Here's what's going on in my city (Lyon, France) at the moment: 18 big (i.e. VERY big) spotlights on the main city square, each individually oriented via computer. The really fun thing is you can send a "picture" (the directions of every spotlight) by internet, and it will get shown the following night. The pattern changes every 20 seconds or so.
