New guy here. Been lurking around the forums for a few years and decided to join up. Anyways, I have a very old Streamlight Tasklight 2L that has recently bit the dust. I also had a XM-L2 U2 LED sitting around as well. Doing a few quick number crunching, I figured I could get at least about double the light output with the same driver. This light originally had around 120 lumens from a "Lumileds" LED. It was pretty straight forward to get the thing apart and throw in the new LED. Also made sure to put some thermal compound behind it as well just in case. Pretty happy to see this light back in action and also about double the amount of light than before. For those interested, I got the LED for just under $10 at http://www.ebay.com/itm/201081234658. The driver doesn't look like it would be too bad to replace in the future if I ever get around to it. Some pictures: (Streamlight has some what fresh C123A batteries, and the TN12 has a freshly charged 18650 in it).

Worth while upgrade to me for only $10 bucks to get this dino back to new again!
