I have 2 of these maglite ML 125s. One has been through hell and back. Still works great. You can get them for around $70 on amazon.

Same result, I suspect it's my location geographically.

Have to say even though I prefer AA lights I may have to pick up a newer mag. Haven't really payed any attention to them in quite some time

I have seen more expensive lights damaged by far less.
Very true. Maglite has has always made a quality product. I'm glad to see them step up with some improved electronics..
