I managed to get my hands on 5 dealextreme SKU 7880 drivers earlier this year. I'm already trying to wedge one into a 1AA host and run an XML with it, but there should be more.
Ideas so far: Wedge it into a 2AA minimag and run an XML as a mule or with a TIR if I can fit it.
Pros: It seemed like a good idea at the time and putting 3 amps through an XML on 2xAA is cool.
Cons: I will have to pot the driver in something thermally conductive to keep it from melting down seeing how the driver pulls 8 amps on the bench when fed 2 AA eneloops in series.
