Hey everyone just sharing some info on this light. Didnt seem to fit in the older fury thread.
Some pics, mine was bored 19mm by myself for protected 18650.

Runtime test
lg mj1 full ouput 20mins then long 2hr tapper to 30%
Sf cr123 x2 full output 32mins then quick 15min decline to 30%
Also measured 18kcd for both batteries

I really want to try 2x 18350 aspire 1100mah batteries because looking at the graphs i bet itll run an hour full output. Just not sure if it will smoke it or not, anyone try 2 lions in their new p2x?

I don't have the answer to your question. I'm just shocked that this is marketed as a 2 x CR123 light. It's begging to be bored out!

Thanks for posting.

i was hoping the output on high would be greater, but seriously, what do you expect from a single cell and 600 lumens.

It would shine on 2x18650 cells, at least get decent runtime. With just 1 cell or 2 123 primaries, I would primarily run it in the low mode, occasionally bumping to high in an emergency.

I read something on CPF that suggested the P2X was the same head as the P3X, and so could use 2 Li-ions but I don't know if it was an early or late driver.
I busted both of mine and rebuilt them as Direct Drive, much more satisfying lights.
So don't depair if you break it, all is not lost.

What you need is a custom 2x18650 body to realize the full potential of Fury. the fivemega one. already bored for 18mm.

but the head is not easily removable, just to add to the frustration. It's just easier to get a Malkoff light such as an MD4 with some module in it, like M61T that's also 600 lumens and I would think a similar throw patter to Fury or M61HOT or even the Hound Dog.

It will come out cheaper versus buying a P2x Fury, then a FiveMega body and putting it all together.

It's too bad Surefire doesn't make a 4x123 version of its compact lights such as G2x and of course Fury P2x/P3x.

well, surefire doesn't make anything other than 123 sized bodies, although sometimes you can fit the slimmer 16mm Li-ion in leu of 16mm 123 cells.

I would love to see a 3-cell version of G2x, called maybe G3x.

Even if I could install a new body, the module might not take the higher 9V versus 6V it was designed for.

The Surefire PR1 is sold with an 18650 Sanyo cell and charger. It's output is about the same as the Fury in question.

The Malkoff M61T MD2 - rated at 350 lumens and 12,000 lux - is very comparable in throw to the PR1, but with less brightness in the spill. The M61T MD2 has a considerably longer run time than the PR1.

Neither can hold a candle to the Hound Dog 18650 in terms of output and beam quality.
