I received a copy of the 2005 Streamlight price guide and there are some new products planned for next year. They probably will not be out until the first part of the year but here is a teaser.
1) Scorpion in an LED version.
2) Stylus pen light in UV.
3) Twin-Task 3c with UV leds.
4) Twin-Task 2 cell lithium and 3watt LS.
5) Stylus pen lights blue or red bodies w/ white, blue, or green leds.
6) Stylus pen lights green led w/ camo body.
7) ProPolymer 4AA with blue or UV leds.
That is all that they have listed for the meantime, but I will keep adding as they announce. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

My therory on the Stylus 2 cell discontinuation is they stopped to lower production costs. It is cheaper to produce only one size of a product instead of 2. I have not confirmed this as it is only therory.

IIRC, $114 MSRP. Actual street price is expected to be closer to $95. Its digitally regulated, and has two brightness settings. 80 lumens max output for 2 hours, and 20 lumens maximum output for 8 hours.

My local gun place (Carters Country) advertises a rechargable Twin Task in the latest papers. I get the impression from the paper that it is a 3C sized light, but maybe I'll get in there tomorrow to check...

Interesting. There were rumors of an LED equipped Stinger, but Streamlight deinied it when I asked...

Me too. I think in theory it will be more of a thrower than the Surefire L2. The 5-watt leds are better for flood, the 3-watt for throw.

I prefer flood in general and LOVE the L2, but it would also be nice to have a dual setting digitally regulated LED with good throw. I hope Streamlight includes a quality orange peel reflector to improve beam quality....I like Streamlight products but I notice that they often lack in beam quality.

They need a 5 watt rechargeable LED light, maybe something with a TL3-sized body and Strion-like head and charger, that uses two Strion cells. That would kick total butt.

Could be because Nuwai makes the twin tasks for them....

Update on the rechargeable Twin Task I reported on:

It is in fact 3C sized, and may actually be the 3C body.

It uses an externally charged battery stick.

One could get the same effect using NimH in a 3C.

This one is somewhat less than a home run....

Need I say, I did NOT buy one.

Sorry for the stupid question, but I'm confused...

How is this different from:

Streamlight at brightguy linky

IS it different?
