Taking Photo\'s of lasers

I'd just like to know the best way to take photos of my laser. Can you use a digital camera or does it need to be something with more options, like a cannon EOS.

I'd like to know as much as possible. the best conditions shutter speed etc any help?

Also, i know it helps if you have smoke, but is it neccesary??

Digital cameras work for beamshots, so long as it has a manual setting that allows adjusting the shutter speed.
Good luck.

A good Digital camera works really well. Just don't hit the CCD with the laser or you will end up with this:

Yea... $300 camera with permanent burn marks on the CCD. Be careful and remember that a SLR camera will shoot the beam right into your eye if you use the viewfinder.
