PURTY LIGHTS!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Seriously man that is the most affordable MicroMag I have ever seen, complete with kit and all. That's below the cost price of my MicroMagMadMax+! (no longer in production so you'd best get them from modamag, ya hear..)

If you can't quite fork over the dough for a real Surefire, the MicroMag may be the next best thing in the size category.

It looks like it will run on standard alkalines, but how about 3x123 cells?

TIN, no problem with 3xCR123 or 3xR123.
You just need to find the sleeve at Home Depot or Lowes

The Nflex is a great Circuit, and will give you alot of "FLEXability" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
So it will work off 3x123, but I seriously doubt it would give you any usable runtime.

You would be better off with 4xCR123 with the VYOT LuxV nFlex in a 2D, 3xCR123 only gives you around 1 volt head room to play with give or take. 0.5V for the Vf variation of the LED and the 1.2V for the nFlex driver unless the reverse protection has been removed.

I cant quite remember, but I think 4x123 would fit, maybe with a slight mod to the tail spring.

At any rate, you could end up making 5 or 6 battery combinations that would work with the nflex, just keep in mind the 1.2V headroom.

Ticey,

Good point the nFlex driver needs voltage above the Vf of the LED its driving plus 1.2 volts to stay in regulation if the reverse protection has not been removed 3XCR123's would not give a very long run time in regulation with a T Vf after counting in voltage sage depending on the selected drive level. 4xCR123's with a sleeve and modified tail spring would be a better option and provide a longer run time, 3xR123's will work also just don't over discharge them /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'm sorry I couldn't make it to the meet. My best buddy for 15 years, Poof the cat, died of natural causes in the late afternoon. It was hectic hiding the cat from my 4 year old son. I didn't want my son to see his best buddy in her condition. By the time the crisis was over it was 6:40pm and too late to make the meet.

Next time? OK?
