I received my Surefire L1 today !!! ............ /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/happy14.gif
I had placed the order on March 8th and Surefire informed me that the
L1 was on back order and would not be shipped until the 1st of April.
However, they got it off a little quicker, thank you Surefire, the friggin
wait was really buggin' me. They must of read my post on this forum.
Within minutes after removing it from the shipping container and its
box, which lay on the table in peaces, I began to realize what all the
orgasmic excitement is about when it comes to the possession of this
superb little light. The design ergonomics and rugged construction
was evident as this piece of outstanding equipment rested comfortably
in my hand. I quickly entered a dark room and fire this baby up. The
low beam was more than enough to easy navigate about and didn't
disrupt my night vision to any great extent. The high beam was a very
piercing white bright spot with moderate spill, however, the bounce
off the ceiling was enough to dimly light up the entire room. While
standing on deck overlooking my backyard, which is quite dark, I
could easy identify objects with the high beam at about 100 ft. or
more. I am accustom to the switch being located just below the head
on the side of the body. However, I think that I'll quickly become
comfortable with the tail cap button. I also find the momentary
function of the switch a definite advantage. The L1 is large enough to
fit comfortably in my hand and small enough to rest lightly in my
pocket. This little light will definitely become my EDC all-around
general purpose light. So small ...... Soooooo sweet !
Multiple kudos for Surefire ......... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/buttrock.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/party.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/buttrock.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/party.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/buttrock.gif
Has anybody try a Li-Ion 123 rechargeable battery in the L1 ???
My next assignment is to look into 123 rechargeable cells with
protective circuitry. Any advice regarding this subject would be
greatly appreciated. Jon, from J.S. Burly's, thinks his 4.2 volt
Li-Ion rechargeable would work well.
Well, you guys did it again, and this time you made me upgrade
to a Surefire. If my wife ever finds out how much this little
beauty cost, I'll just have to blame it on you guys and the
damned forum. .......... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rant.gif ....... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mpr.gif
