Just curious what the use for a UV LED light would be.

I scored a small key chain UV LED (marked luminox). Dealer is the store use them to demo the luminesence of watches. It also makes my non tritum watches glow like mad.

Other than as a toy I can't figure a use for it.

Checks security strips on currency. Pet and human urine stain locator. Certain scorpions glow in the dark. Credit Card holograms.

Some people mark their valuables with invisible ink that fluoresces under a UV light.

California Drivers Licenses also have a UV "signature". I *actually* use them for curing adhesives. I use them for fun in the other mentioned applications. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Self tanning! you know, to get to those hard to reach areas! J/K.

I use them to charge up glow powder fast too. And inspection of things.

Thanks!

The darn model was too small to put lights inside it so it was a lot easier to use different color glow powder and mount a UV light on the display for lighting from the outside.

Nope...it is simply the Reliant from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn. Enterprise did a job on her. And the Reliant did a job on the Enterprise too. Your guess was not bad. It could have been Kelsey Grammer's Bozeman.

Hmmm...I haven't beaten up the Bozeman yet. Every other ST ship, yes, but not the Bozeman.

Back on topic now.

I just ordered a new Inova X5 UV light. Does the lower number help? I think the Inova is 195. Can they both see the same things?

Aside from the Inova, what other companies make UV lights?

Another question, isn't UV invisible to human eye? Why does that light above emit visible purple beam? Photoshop trick?
