Windup light @ Costco

I don't know if anybody cares, but I was at Costco today and saw something I hadn't seen there before.

It seemed pretty bright. It's one ugly flashlight, though. They were 19.99 for the pair. I guess it couldn't hurt to have one in the car for emergencies. Are these hack friendly?

I always wonder what's keep the electrical charge after winding. It says no battery to replace... well, there's gotta be a battery in there some where. Or perhaps a capacitor.
