US Flag Lapel Pin ?

Recently, in the past few months, I noticed that the President, VP, and other high ranking officials have changed their old "wavy" style US Flag Lapel Pins to a new style "rectangular" shaped US Flag Pin with some type of gold-colored "logo" in the bottom right hand corner of the flag design.

Does anyone know why they changed the style of their US Flag Lapel Pins, and does anyone have a link to a closeup photo of their new style flag pin?

Thanks.

In theory, it is most honorable to display a picture/sticker/pin that is not stylized or wavy.

I watched CNN's Wolf Blitzer interview the V.P. today (yes, the V.P. was wearing the new style rectangular flag pin on his lapel).

I tried to make out what the "gold logo" was ... but to no avail.
