Hi
I am considering importing green laser pointers into Australia for resale here. I dont want to do anything illegal and would like to find out the customs regulations for importing this type of laser without a licence. i have found a chinese manufacturer who can make 5mw 532nm green lasers also made in 10mw too. But need to find out if customs will let them through. I have scoured Australian customs website but cannot find the relevent info. Does anyone here know the maximum mw i can import?
Cheers.

Re: Australian customs regulations for green laser

If you are talking about an import for business ventures I'd contact customes directly and rather not base the fate of my business on advice given on a forum, even one as good as CPF /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Australian customs regulations for green laser

If I remember correctly, Australia says anything >2mW is not suitable for public use. I remember reading that this was the standard England and Australia both set for importation of pointers. Take this with a grain of salt, as I don't have any reference to back this up.
