I just pulled what I'm pretty sure will be my new favorite and always in my pocket HDS out of the package. Bought a new 325 ( but guessing older stock based on the serial number, great stonewashed bezel and included standard pocket clip) I LOVE IT! The temp/tint is right in the middle of my hicri and my 250. Huge floody beam and bright light makes it just what I was hoping for. I'll toss a new family photo up as soon as I remember where I put that MODDOO Ti clip I got from Nicrod!

Very nice - mind sharing how you stripped the anodize off the light in the middle? I may want to do this to one of my Rotaries.

Sorry, I'm not sure of the method used as I recieved the light in a trade with member TheJlew85 he told me he purchased it from a member in Australia....perhaps he could put you in touch with him?

And Thank you for the complement.

lol no I'm a confirmed clickie guy. I owned an HDS rotary for about 10 mins before I knew it wasn't for me.

I was the same way. Bought and sold two Rotaries, didn't care for them. Gave it another go about 10 months later. Don't use my Clicky much anymore, I would say I'm a Rotary guy. Clicky wins the clip contest though, I'll give you that. :p

Just wanted to state the obvious: HDS is the classiest flashlight company.

After Vinh Nguyen installed 5000k XP-Ls in three old XP-G rotaries (two of which were from the very first batch of Rotaries), I sent them to Henry who updated the firmware and re-calibrated them to 325-lumen models and shipped them back to me within around 24 hours. Now I have three brand new rotaries.

Want to sell me one? :)

Almost the same story for me. A friend sent me his Rotary and told me to keep it as long as I needed but I think I sent it back the next week. Cool, but not for me.

Well as of last year HDS went back into my pocket and although I still have a 140 that I'll never sell, Rotary is in constant service, every day.

I could definitely switch back to a Clicky at any time, as the UI still feels completely natural to me, but it would not be voluntarily.

I love my infinite UIs so the Rotary FTW for me but I will concede the Clicky has the better clip options. I'm completely happy with my Universal Clip on the couple of Rotaries I have - it was a bigger deal for me before that option was out there.

Great thing about the Rotary is that you can program it to be just like a Clicky if you want. Personally I like to have the light programmed to come on in the Rotary setting and then have three preset levels just a click away if I want.

Besides - if you ever let someone use your HDS it's much easier to explain to them how to turn the light on and then twist the tailcap versus turning the light on and trying to explain how to double/triple click or click plus hold.

Yeah, what he said!

If I do hand someone my Rotary I've already turned it on and adjusted it but you're absolutely right about it being easy for anyone to use if it needs to be turned up or down.

Hey, did you guys see Henry's post in the Shot Show 2016 thread?

He said that he will be there with a headlamp :)
I'm dying too see what he has created. Knowing Henry, it's gonna be pretty
damn amazing!
