The Blackshadow Terminator gets my vote. Basically a high quality SRK with a handle.

Just my humble opinion. But I wouldn't be shooting any bear with a .223. The smallest caliber recommended is the .243 (that's for black bear). I am sure these guys will have some great Tac lights to hook to your AR to tho. Good luck.
Funny, I pulled my U3 version out last night & was playing with it. It a laser with the collimater head on it. Great question tho.. I had no idea of the difference between them.
The King & Kung.. Pardon me, I love pictures.
King
Kung
My Kung I bought just days after they came out.. It seems to do really well. But I have gotten very mixed reviews on them.
I found the exact opposite. I bought my Kung when they first came out & it is noticeably brighter than my King. But as you said above. It's hit & miss.... If my King is Sub standard that would account for it.
As far as budget lights go. I got schooled by a fellow from Croatia I believe it was. The post I had made was about anything under $50 being junk & you get what you pay for. He explained to me the average monthly income for his area was $300 a month. Why couldn't he expect to buy a light and...
OK, brace yourselves... I may be strung up from the nearest yard arm for this comment. But to me, the XinTD is nothing more than a glamorous HD2010.. With the exception of the HD will use any 26650 battery you throw at it.
I got one of these recently & didn't care for it. It was very picky about batteries. It wouldn't use protected 26650's at all. I didn't want to use the battery carrier so I traded it.
I recently received one of these & really like it. It doesn't use standard batteries. It's a bit longer than a Solarforce but with LOTS of throw.
