    Woodsaw cleaning on multitools

WD-40 usually cuts through that stuff pretty well.

What was your flashlight collection 10-12 years ago?

In 1996, I had a 4D Mag, AA minimag, Bucklight 4AA (clone of the UK4AA) and a Eveready 6V floating lantern. My old Tekna 8AA Diving light was already retired.

Flashlights on Airplanes Now? Post 8-10-06

Oh don't be so sure. I was passing through the check point in Ft. Lauderdale in June when the the TSA guy asked about my Surefire T-Shirt, you know Smaller Brighter etc. He had never heard of Surefire but seemed truly interested, in something. "it's like a Maglite, right?" as he tried twisting...

    I dont understand.

Before LED/Lithiums, there was little variation from the standard 2D-cell, whether it be metal or plastic. I remember the first time I saw a yellow 3D-cell RayoVac, I thought it was so cool. So I would always be drawn to anything unusual such as side by side battery arrangements, or twin bulbs...

What lights for a week-long canoe trip?

Ahhh, memories. I used to go solo canoe camping in the Adirondack Mtns. of NY back in the early 90's. I was always trying to get as far away from civilization as possible (Don't ask). Usually around Long Lake, Forked Lake and the Raquette River to the mouth of the Cold River. That's about as...

    Inova X5 and XO3: DISAPPOINTMENT!

I wanted to give a flashlight to a good friend (non-flashaholic) who had just bought a Honda road bike and was planning a cross country trip. I thought about it for a good while and got him a X5. No need for him to carry extra batteries, completely waterproof and indestructable, small enough to...

    Looking for Groomsmen Gifts

I got married 3 years ago and gave my Best Man a Surefire E2 Black. To us jaded flashaholics, it might not seem so hot but to a non-flashaholic it was kick butt bright, tiny for a flashlight of any kind and obviously of very high quality. Once I demonstrated how another person reacts to getting...

    Surefire L4 LumaMax

Whenever I loose something small, like in the grass at night, the L4 is the light I reach for. I usually find whatever it was. It's at its best in close up situations like searching closets or under car seats. That flood is really what you need when working at arms length.

    Thin affordable watch?

Take a look at Skagen watches. I have the Model 233LTMB. It's got a metal band and it costs about $100, but it sure is extremely thin. A fine dress watch.

Reason 21 why you should always carry a flashlight

Hi Web, You can be sure I do my part to educate and hopefully enlighten. Everyone who knows me knows the "two flashlights at all times" drill. Most probably just think I'm weird but harmless. So be it. I can honestly say that, for my business, cost is not a factor. I can get anything I need...

Reason 21 why you should always carry a flashlight

Hold on there fellas, I'm one of those building management types and I'd like to give my take on this. I've been managing high rise office buldings in a city environment for more than 20 years and I can tell you that even with layers of contingency plans for things like emergency lighting...

    Were you always a flashaholic?

Oh yea. I have very early memories, from about 8 or 10 years old, of a chromed Eveready penlight using those silver "nine lives" carbon-zinc AA's that I EDC'd to school. And I also remember my Dad's 6 volt lantern battery sealed beam light with the thumb screw terminals and red flashing light...
