By jack out he meant unplug your laptops network connection...I've had to do it occasionally. As long as I've done that I usually take it a step further and move elsewhere in the house, somewhere without a LAN connection. If you have wireless LAN then take out the card. If it's built in go to the command prompt and hit ipconfig/release

Or there's always the path you took...keep posting. Yeah, that never works for me
