I work in adult education, specialising in CNC and welding. I've used some holsters for other flashlights there but iron filings etc. have a tendency to get stuck in the holsters and then after a little while you have not-so nice little hot spots where there's any kind of harder friction against the flashlight. Until i'm finally getting the rotary i've ordered i'm carrying an Olight S2R II in my pocket which works, but it's still not ideal considering aforementioned filings tend to congregate around the tail. I've attempted using my Emisars but it's a bit too oily at times for me to feel safe with the boot, and while my PD35 v2 has been working well it's a bit too large for comfortable use all the time.
What i had in mind would be something kinda like the picture here, except for only one light and a larger lip on top keeping it in place, however not enough to impede on drawing the flashlight. That way it'd be easy to just clean with some compressed air rather than having to go at it with tape, a screwdriver, and a tiny magnet.

You do know why, you were given a notice about listing items for sale without being a sponsor. If you really are going to use that as a reason to leave, not much I can do.

If you had followed this for years, you would know it is an interest thread. Seeing if there is enough interest to get Henry to do a run.
Much like many of the runs that have been done in the past from the folks here requesting them from 18350 battery tubes to special emitters. It starts with someone requesting it, then others chiming in... then an interest thread.
But it's your playground.
Huh? That wasn't a for sale thread man. The lights don't even exist, and may never exist. If they ever do they would be sold on the HDS site. So this post makes no sense.
It's called an interest thread, how is that not allowed? Hogo has done this quite a few times, it's never been a problem before. 🤷♂️

Wow... Not just HDS, but there have been interest threads all over CPF for years. Might be worth spelling out so there's no confusion.

This is a sad and disturbing misunderstanding. The thread in question was clearly an interest thread, not a for sale thread. And what exactly is a "sponsor"? What does that term mean? I see HDS ads on CPF from time to time. Doesn't that qualify HDS as a sponsor? Is it the individual supporter's badge that is the issue?

Moving to Facebook exclusively will be ruinous to the community of HDS enthusiasts. It may be a platform for Hogo to communicate with customers but it's not a place conducive to reading, learning or research. All of which are important when a person is trying to decide if a $400+, 300 lumen flashlight is right for them. It will be like replacing a continuously updated encyclopedia volume with a series of text messages and emojis.

That's a good point. Unless this subform gets locked, the users can continue on.

Was this a one-mod decision? If yes, is there any kind of documentation as to what was removed, and why? As a somewhat longtime user of this site i'd be grateful to know what the unspoken no-nos are that aren't listed in the TOS.

Does anyone have an HDS beater lying around...i'd like to drop a 519a in one.
I'm very confident that with flux paste and a hot air station we can control the heat enough to successfully swap the LED without destroying the light.

I'm still in the research stage.
Vihn charges $20 and has a good success rate, although he makes no guarantees.
I only have 1 HDS and the HCRI emitter has a wonderful tint.
My thought is this…use flux gel so less time is required to desolder and then reflow.
Set the small nozzle hot air station to 700 degrees so that I get in and out quickly without the heat having time to spread. I think is where people go wrong is when they use 400 degrees, requiring more time thus allowing the heat to spread. Then just pop off that dome that was the heat shield.
I have successfully done this several times with an import twisty where the driver and LED share the same board. The driver directly is under the LED.
