Any Police Dept's using Malkoff drop ins as standard issue?

I'd think that the platform it's being used in is also important. For example, if a Dept. buys a bunch of Malkoff's and the various officers use them in all sorts of hosts, I bet issues would develop, mainly because not all hosts are created equal.

Another issue would be the acquisition, support, policy etc for a piece-by-piece light, which most Depts aren't willing to do.

I can see small teams (i.e. SERT, MERGE, SWAT, etc) using a personally purchased drop in, but not large Depts.

Maybe it's a bit daring, but what about a Malkoff-Fivemega joint venture to produce an upgunned 6P clone from tip to tailcap?

Fantastic. You have an excellent product. Hope you continue to prosper and grow.
+1 Gene -- Wishing you and your fine company tremendous success and that your Drop-In sales take off like never before in 2009. Judging by their quality, they certainly ought to!
Oh yeah . . . You deserve it! :goodjob:
Very Best Regards,

I have sold them to a few departments in volume. It seems that inquiries in this regard are slowly growing.

Hi Gene,
We spoke on Saturday. To say I'm waiting eagerly for my order is an understatement. From Alabama to South Florida won't take long, I hope. Do you think I could safely use these batteries with your drop-in? Thanks.

I would think that most PDs would not have the budgets to purchase M60s in bulk for their officers.

Heck, I spoke with an LEO in my city and asked him about what appeared to be a (surprisingly) cheap 2xCR123 LED light on his duty belt and he just bluntly told me that they issue the same light to everyone. It sure did not look like a SF, Fenix, Tiablo, Dereelight, etc.

I may have to approach one of the SWAT team members to see if they have anything better...

Gene, your products are great. I have an M60 and love it. I'll be buying more in the future. Mybe an M60LL. 6PL's should come with your modules from the factory!
Keep up the great work!

There are quite a few Hinton RCMP members running the M60 right now. It started with the initial setup of one officer with a standard 6P-Malkoff setup that i purchased him. Before long roughly 1/2 of the detachment is running some form of Malkoff setup now.

Being that every item used by RCMP is pretty well standard issue, their flashlights are one of the few things they can customize. They really like the fact too that Gene had personally engraved his M60's for them with either the Constables name (which they loved) or with the words RCMP-GRC (which they loved even more).

I now love running past a roadside check in Hinton on a Friday night and nearly being blinded at 10 car-lengths by what could only be a Malkoff. Its either the scorching lumens or feeling of pride that brings a tear to my eye :)

GO GENE!!!

malkoff is a small manufacturer that probably wont hold up to police demands.
Do you own a Malkoff? I think it will hold up better than any incandescent light made.

Are you allowed to say who?
Their expenditures are a matter of public record.

I trust my life to several Malkoff M60s. One in my Surefire M2, attached to my main SWAT vest, one in my rifle mounted light, and one in my Surefire G2L in my bailout bag. These drop-ins are the best made that I have seen. I have probably shot close to 2,500 rounds through my M4 with my M60 attached and not a single problem! My Surefire M2 has been dropped , banged, and knocked against more things than I can remember! So to say these drop-ins wouldn't hold up to "Police demands" is UNTRUE! I have since turned several guys on my team and on my department on to Gene's M60's. Hands down...these drop-ins are good to go! I wouldn't use anything else!!! Keep it up Gene!

I'm going to take a guess that maybe this post means that Malkoff might not hold up to the demands (as in quanity) of law enforcement agency orders.

Some departments have less than ten officers, others have thousands.
