Surefire 3P parts: with Malkoff P7

I would get at least 45 minutes before my eyes noticed a drop, but because the M30 will be an M30L, M30LL, M30LLL, depending on voltage: it will keep going. Not as bright of course.

Can someone confirm that the 3P or rather the adapter head (for use with the body extension will fit on a U2 or Kroma body properly.

I just put the P7 in my Pentagon Px-1. It is plastic so to avoid the heat I wrapped it in alum foil.

Due to the added diameter in the bezel compared to the 6P bezel I was able to wrap the P7 many times over and over. In fact, I ran out of aluminum foil.

I ran it for 20 minutes non-stop with aw16340 and it didn't even get warm. I was surprised it didn't even heat up.
This is good right?
Or is the excess aluminum foil keeping the heat within the bezel?

Hey dood!!

Thats probably bad, the heat is being trapped in the module, rather than being radiated from the light.

Open the Pentagonlight's bezel and check the Malkoff P7 module directly for heat buildup. A cool plastic bezel, as has been said previously, can simply mean that the Malkoff is well-insulated.

Okay guys, I'mrelatively new to the light scene. I don't see the 3P listed at the SF site. I guess they are 1x123 powered customs y'all are putting together?
I'm interested in this type of set-up. The search engine here won't search for 3p, its too short. Can someone direct me to more threads discussing the "3P" please?

Surefire does not produce them anymore. Some of the originals and some have the aftermarket bodies. There is a member on this site that is selling a aftermarket 3P body and you can get the same body at lighthound.com. Yes, it is a single 123 light.

Finding a SF 3P body may take some time. But can be done.

My plan is to bag one of FiveMega's 3P bodies, a 6P head, and a Z41 or Z59 tailcap, drop a Malkoff P7 LA into the 6P head and an AW IMR 16340 cell into the Fivemega 3P tube. That will make a nice, kick-butt, pocketable P7 "flood blaster" for sure. Not a long runtime, but for a pocketable tactical defense light, who cares?

You can even shoe horn one into an E1 body if you want to go to the effort. And E1 bodies are easy to come by.

Howdy Amigo! Its great to run into ya! :thumbsup: I've been totin' stock 6P's for quite some time. The advancements in techno;ogy are great. Just ordered my first Malkoff, an M60 for my 6P.
I believe I will start putting the parts together for a 3P. Your plan sounds excellent. Will the setup you're describing accept a pocket clip?

Ray... the Fivemega bodies don't include pocket clips and I don't generally use them myself... perhaps one could be custom made, though.

Here are a few pictures of the FM/ Nite 3P body. The first picture has a factory SF 6P, then a FM SF C head, AW C cell body w/ clickie and finally the FM/ Nite 3P body with a 6P head and Z41 tailcap.
