Two fresh Rotaries on the way... 3500K 219b and an amber :) Happy to be part of the record, and now my new-to-me (from a fellow forum member) 4K XPL 18650 Rotary will have a couple friends :D

Quick newbie question: can I throw those new heads on the 18650 body? ...or will I throw some calibration out of whack?

It will understand the 18650 tube just fine. Don't put primaries (2x123) in there!

I do hope that the majority of folks who wanted one, got one. It can be really hard to predict demand. The NB30 was not a big seller in the BeCu or Stainless, but was the first to go in this.
But you may think about getting an additional number of NB30-NB45 LEDs for a later time (a few month). My impression is the 219B sells quite fine. And if the amount is not too low than there is no reason for the effort doing this email button reservation stuff. Guess that were not a cool day, the Monday after 12:00 noon after the HDS post box was full.

In the past ~1-2 year ago the NB35, NB40, NB45 was available in the normal way right after the Titanium, Brass and Bronzer were sold, without this reservation email.

Also it is fast earned money from my understanding. The "limited" LED is not that much more expensive, but the limited option is additional $40 for a sold light. And additional money is always good for a company to invest this money into product improvements, new products or only having the money to give the HDS employees a very good bottle of rum just because there is some money...

Can someone post a beamshot of the nb35 comparing to a 4000k emitter? Thanks!

Here it is an older compare of HDSlights with Nichia 219C and other LEDs:
https://www.candlepowerforums.com/v...DS-GROUP-BUY&p=5226405&viewfull=1#post5226405

But this is a compare NC35 to NC40. But NB35 and NC35 is not a big difference. The NB40 might me little bit more red in compare to the NC40.

I will do a few new compare shots if I have my SDV30 and NB30. Than I will do some new compare pictures. Actually I am missing SDV30. That will be shipped in 4 weeks. Than I will grab all the LED options I have and compare them...

Thanks WoL! I love those family color palette shots! Could I bother you for a side by side?

This is my first ever post at CPF, but I figured if I can be helpful now's as good a time as any!

I've taken a series of pictures with different WB settings, and manually adjusted the 4500K WB image to match what's closest to my perception. From left to right are NB30, NB35, NB40, NB45 against brilliant white printer paper. If you'd like to see the full series of shots you can find them here: https://imgur.com/a/MJ70XVP

Cheers!

Mcsquare - Wow, not many first posts like that one. Your beamshots are some of the nicest I've seen. WAY better than mine. Thank you! Exactly what I was looking for... This really helps a lot.

And thanks to Jon Slider too, always helpful. Greatly appreciated!

Ohh that NB35! I knew I missed something special this time. I just wasn't in the "buying season" like someone recently called it.

"Buying season" interesting phrase.... guess than I was totally in a buying season. :D

But Hogo stated also that from now on for some time no new special LEDs and oder special stuff is coming. Than I was lucky that on my location was buying season :)

Thank you everyone for the kind words, I'm glad you found the beamshots helpful!

I see that the 3500K is everyone's favorite, and I have to concur - in usage at night it hits the magical balance between warmth and whiteness, not unlike an incandescent light with fresh batteries. However, it does so at any brightness, in comparison to the inCAN'Tdescents. As a little kid I had a generic xenon bulb light with a blue filter in the front to make the beam whiter, little did I know today I'll be chasing the perfect tint and CRI combo trying to replicate the incan experience!

3500k looks nice for nighttime use. How is it for daytime? Does anyone have a beam shot of NB35 next to SS40?

Luckily, my only other HDS (for now) is the SS40, so here you go! Image taken at 4500K WB then manually re-white balanced. From left to right are NB35, SS40, NB45 on white printer paper.

Of course, with my equipment (phone camera + uncalibrated monitor) I can't exactly reproduce how they look, but this is fairly close. :)
