The 16mm will fit in the md3 no problem but will rattle, which can be fixed by wrapping some tape around the dummy. 18mm is the correct size technically speaking. The md21700 would use 21mm dummies.

Ok thanks! Yeah that would be annoying to actually buy a spacer and then have the thing rattle. 21mm for MD21700 awesome thanks again, I'll look for someone besides Oveready who might sell that size.
Since this is two off topic posts from me now I'll add a relevant comment that I may have been convinced in here that MD3 IS the best, if you could own only one flashlight! Good arguments for it!

What battery are you trying to fit into the MD21700 that would require such a dummy? A 18650 will fit without modification. You can always make your own sleeves out of PVC piping, warp the cell in tape or even use cardboard.
Yes exactly, an 18650 into a MD21700. I bought an MD21700 but haven't received it yet but I'm assuming that the rattle would drive me crazy (18mm vs 21mm). Not that I don't plan to use 21700 batteries in it, but I own way more 18650 batteries so I might sometimes.
My original Surefire U2, the Lux version. It was the hottest thing on CPF around when I joined, and a few years later I bought myself a used one as a Christmas present. Been carrying it with my work stuff daily since then. Dropped it off the roof once and Surefire replaced the broken lens under warranty. I've never been able to find a newer light to replace it. The combo of the selector ring and 5-100 lumen range is extremely useful for closeup work where I can pick just the right illumination.
I stopped carrying it on walks since I got a Streamlight Stinger 2020, though. That thing also has a direct level selector but goes 100-2000. Better for outdoors.

UV secondaries. I like that, never even thought of doing that before
The guy who modified these for me, started doing UV Secondaries after I asked for it to be done.
I've never heard of it being done before, I like UV to light up my GITD stuff and my watches, especially when I'm camping.
The lights I probably like the most are Surefire Fury's. I acknowledge they are inferior to my Malkoffs but there's something to them. Ergonomically they are still my gold standard for medium sized LED lights. Combined with those lovely, smooth surefire switches & great low/hi UI, its a winner. That's still my favorite flashlight UI. They also look great. The G2X is fantastic as well, especially the 320 lumen PRO versions.
If I could only keep a few lights It'd be my Malkoffs, but I just have a soft spot for these. Ive got 3 of them. Still missing the combat version. If I find one at a good price I'll add it.
PS. The Fury reflectors are also some of the best ever made for a flashlight. I think that's pretty universally acknowledged. Just a fantastic beam with a perfect combo of spot/spill white still reaching out far. Making the most out of those 500 lumens. Just the tint could be better...

I wish malkoff would just offer a high/low instead of their 3 mode MDCs and drop ins. Only way to utilize the high/low is with the MD series which I love but are a bit of a beast for daily carry.

I hear you. Id love a hi/low on my MDC. Tho my biggest complaint is actually the ON-time UI.
Yes. I wouldn't mind the 3 mode if he offered it with off time memory. 3 clicks to get to high most of the time gets annoying

If Maglite would put their warm leds into these I would buy another one. I had the Ml50l for a while but that finish with the grenade texture is pretty cool looking.
