Double Grooved Mokume Gane Tri-Color 14500 Light:

• Mokume Gane consisting of copper, brass and nickel silver
• Twist operation for on/off; custom foam gasket to eliminate battery rattle
• 19mm x 78.25mm, or .75" x 3 1/8"
• Weight: 2.3 ounces, 65 grams; includes battery installed
• Driver: GD1000 by Wayne Yamaguchi--can use primaries or rechargeables
• Battery: AW protected 14500 Lithium Ion
• LED: Seoul P4, bin U3SVNH
• Mineral glass lens
• McR-16 reflector

This is my fourth Mokume Gane Light and, imo, the nicest one that I've made so far. The patterns on this particular piece of MG is very beautiful.

You out did youself on this one Fred. If you can do a small neck chain light in mokume gane count me in for one! I think it would be awesome to have another of your customs! I keep the bare titanium Killer on my keychain, the La Petite Killer on my necklace, the mokume gane in my personal camera bag, a Rainbow Killer on my wife's keychain, and I gave my Grandaughter a Rainbow Killer when she was born. I guess I am a loyal fan of your work! :thumbsup:

That's incredible. It looks like you've taken a rock and carved it out.
The swirling patterns are very beautiful.

That a clear anodized KI light--made by Ryoichi Katokichi of Japan. He was one of the first custom light builders on CPF and his workmanship has always been incredible. All of his lights were handmade. I must say that it was Kato that inspired me to get into flashlight building.

He has also done a lot of mods over the years. You can see some of his work here.

While I can make a neck light in Mokume Gane, it really isn't the right material to wear around ones neck--copper will react with your perspiration and might create some nasty colors, not to mention adverse skin reactions.

Some folks are even sensitive to nickel silver.

Now, if you'd like a Ti neck light--that would be a better choice. :devil:

Damascus steel would be a good compromise between hypo-allergenic and textured appearance, I think.

Karl, that rainbow killer looks strangely familiar.

Fyrstormer you are absolutely correct! This was my first grandchild and what better gift than a Photonfanatic Rainbow Killer from a "Flashaholic" Grandpa! Fred ...this damn light is driving me nuts! I am seriously tempted! I hate to be a light "HOG" and will let others have a chance before I pull the trigger but I know I can't hold out too long! It's the kid in a candy store saga! This is a "SWEET" treat and I want it BAD! Any discount for repeat customers? Ha Ha ...she's a beauty! :devil:

The funny thing is, it would probably be easier to sell this if there were nine more just like it. The high-rollers wouldn't be afraid to jump in and grab one.

Actually, I beg to differ. Part of the joy of owning a light like the DGMG#4 is that it isn't a mass-produced item. It is unique and while the form might be duplicated, it will always be a one-of-a-kind.

Let's face it--just how many Mokume Gane flashlights are out in the world? I'd venture fewer than 20 pieces, perhaps even less than 10.
