Not sure how to call it...
KL4-Defender even ?

It's my modded KL4 with Cree XR-E on a VG-FB1 body and
with the regular KL4 bezel replaced with the crown-bezel
of an E2D which I bought a few months ago, for this very purpose...

I also replaced the stock lens for a domed lens (Surefire also)...
I like the domed look, but it never fit the stock bezel because
it would stick out too much. The crown protects it now...
The E2D crown is black, these don't come in HA Nat I think.

It is a nice combo and I plan on keeping it this way...

George, I like that small format for the KL4. Yesterday I sent my KL4 off to have the bias dropped to 450mA's to the led. Stock is about 660mA's to the led. I will lose some lumens but it will run cooler and longer with RCR123's, and still have that wonderful beam. My KL4 runs the stock Lux V.

Why not have your emitter swapped ?
It will run much cooler AND much longer...

I love the "wall of light" effect of the KL4. Besides, the KL4's circuit is not set up for the Seoul, or Cree, same with KL5. The efficiency of the lux V will improve at lower bias, vf goes down, and becomes more efficient as boost level decreases.

I have enough high lux lights, though I would like to try out a reflector with my Cree'd First Run.
