I'm going to install trit. vials and was wondering if there is any problem with unscrewing the head so I have more room to place the adhesive precisely? (Plus, I'd like to see a bit more of the "guts" if anything is visible after removal)

I'm not the original owner, so warranty concerns don't matter.

I know that the head will unscrew, will just the head and reflector then come off, or do I need to worry about anything else being loose?

Usually, I'll just take something apart if I want to see how it works, but considering the $$ of these, I'm being a little cautious!

Thanks,
Tim

I don't think the head will come off, the body looks to be one piece to me. You can probably unscrew the bezel and take the lens and the reflector out, but that won't you help with the trits...

I'm about to try the same, I have the trits, I have the Norland61, but no sun and only an INOVA X2 UV which I don't know if it is able to cure the Norland. The access to teh trit holes is indeed not that good, but others had success, so we'll have success to. In case you mess it up, you can clean away the Norland and start over till the result looks good. I'll use a toothpick to dribble the Norland in, tiny drop by drop.

Good luck!

If it's like the Spy 005 you can remove the whole head. The trick is putting it back together. :) Dave has a YouTube video showing how to assemble the 005 -- which was extremely helpful!

I'm gonna stick with mine the way they came.
For me, if it ain't broke, don't tinker with it, cuz I might just break it.

Saw this photo. Do not know if this helps.

Proline, thanks. I had seen that, that was why I knew the head did unscrew.

Between that and the utube video of the 005 being assembled, I did successfully remove the head and get it re-installed.

I'm still waiting for one of the trit's, so I'll post some pics after the new year.
