1xAA light holder that doesn't suck?

I've tried the small DX light holders, and dislike how loose they are for 1xAA lights and don't like the velcro cover.

My personal favorite method is to hold the light in a holder that hangs from a carabiner on my belt loop. I used to use an Ultrafire C3 holster like this for 2 years, but it broke, and I can't find a decent replacement.

I've tried using a keyring and carabiner straight off the lights, but often times the keyring hits the light switch and accidentally turns the light on. Also, the metal is very thin usually around this spot, and I'm afraid of the keyring eventually ripping through.

Anything like the ultrafire c3 holster exist? (Without having to buy the flashlight).

I'm going to be using it on an Akoray 106.

I have been using the holder for my Fenix L1D CE now for over 3 years. I have been using it for 3 different flashlight manufacturers. Mostly because I like it and also because the other lights didn't include holsters.

L1D CE & its included holster. It can be worn on the belt and it does have a carabiner clip as well and no velcro cover. It holds the lights in by elastic expansion material on either side of the light.

Next I got a Nitecore D10 and it didn't come with a holster, but it fits perfectly into the fenix holster. I EDC'd that for almost a year

Next I just got a 4sevens Quark AA Tactical. That came with a holster, but it has a velcro cover so I don't use it. The Quark fits in the fenix very well.

The original fenix holster has held up extremely well for EDC for over 3 years now with 3 different lights.

I don't know if you can purchase the holster separately. I seem to recall that you could, but I don't remember from where..

Good luck, holsters are important if you use them, otherwise lights fall out and break...

Hi,

surely you can get a spare holster for the Fenix L1D, which fits several other models, too.

E.g. take a look at Lighthound. :candle:

Edit: sorry, overlooked the "out of Stock" mark. Let's try another shop. Four Sevens ... nada. Then a german shop, which I like very much, aptly named FlashLightShop Bingo!

Hth

Greetings,

I'll third the recommendation for the Fenix L1D holster. I've been holstering my D10 in one for a few months, and today I used it with my Quark AA NT, and it worked just fine. A tad short for the Quark, but I'm so used to the D10 just disappearing in there that I guess I've been spoiled. If you can find it, definitely get one.

edit: EliteLED lists them on their site: http://www.eliteled.com/products/accessory/fenix-accessories.html though I'm not sure if they have any in stock. Good luck on your search!

KD apparently cells the same Ultrafire C3 holster by itself for a buck or two. Crisis averted!

1) If you use elastic, you don't really need a top clasp to hold the light in.
2) If you're fat like me, it's uncomfortable to have anything that hangs at the belt line. Always ends up poking you when you sit down.
