This is my first led Mag mod.

Light started it's life as normal 3D mag, I bought it secondhand for 10$ a month ago.

Leds: 3x Cree P4
Cree optic painted black
Glass lens,

Leds are soldered directly to flat(2mm) copper bar 12mm wide.
2 of these bars is heatsinked to aluminium disk.
Wires are soldered underside where copper is narrowed.
Light uses original switch for on/off.
Low/high level is by turning head 1cm.which activates switch, low level goes trought 2ohm resistor. High is DD. Head is locked otherwise.

I'm using 9AA nimhs 4AA ->1D pareller holder. Works also 3 nimh/nicd D.

Sorry no inside photos

Total cost without holders and batteries 43$ not bad.

I'm happy with result, but I brought all wires inside for future mods->
some driver would be nice.

Nice mag. I like the idea of the switch in the head, can you show us any details? Was it easy to build into the head?

 :goodjob:

I like the solution for High/Low level!:)

Thanks for comments.

I like painted opticholder more than standard in black mag.
I may lose few lumens but I don't care, it's bright.

Thanks a bunch for posting the insides. I've been pondering how to do a high-med-low switch activated by turning the head for a week now. Let's just say that all the solutions I've come up with have been ridiculously over engineered compared to yours. Why do I always do that? :sigh:

Thanks for the extra photos. Nice way of doing the hi low switch. I would never of thought of that.
