I was at Walmart today and saw these flashlights, brandname is Ravoyc (or however you spell it). They take 2 AA batteries.

Say I get three of these, that's 9W and 240 Lumens for $75.

Is that going to be powerful enough for nighttime riding? I even might get 4 of these, that would be 12W and 320 Lumens for $100.

Opinions? Does anyone have any pics of how 240 or 320 lumens look like at night?

The 2AA Rayovac is a pretty good overall light but is only around 50 lumens (tested) not the 80 that they claim on the package. It might be 80 emitter lumens but not out the front end.
Do you plan on using these for bike riding? If you are willing to spend $100 then you can buy yourself something MUCH nicer than 4 of these lights.
In a very dark setting 250+ lumens looks VERY bright! Especially if it is a floody beam. My P3D Rebel which is around 150 lumens lights everything within 50ft like daylight.

The 3W light is about 50 lumen out the font as adrondaydestroyer stated. Runtime is only 50 minutes max on Alkaline batteries.

You could get a much better/brighter deals online(Especially with a Cree emitter, 2 Cree P4s can put out at least 340 lumen at the emitter).

If you just want brightness and reasonable quality, the two of These lights should be about 200 lumen out the front together and give you about an hour of runtime on high(of course you'll need 18650 rechargeable batteries and the charger, total is about $63).

If your willing to spend more money, the Fenix Rebel 100 P3D should be good with the twinfish blocks.

Or you can DIY for even more brightness and runtime, check the threads, especially this one.

How would 240 lumen look? Well, consider this, a stock 2D light has a maximum output of about 25 lumen, a Minimag has an output of around 10 lumen, a Maglite 4D has an output of about 60 lumen and a P3D-CE is around 110-120 lumen with the Rebel 100 version around 130-150 lumen.

Welcome to CPF!
