What sort of batteries does it use? Is this the 10W or 14W version?

I believe only the body is different.
I will ask Mac to confirm if it is 14W.

It takes 3x18650 into the battery holder as seen in the picture.

This light uses the 10w ballast but since the ballast is rated at 500 lumens @ 10.8v the ballast is overdriven to probably just around 800 lumens using 3x18650 cells. Also I believe Lux Luther tested both the 10w and 14w Solarc systems and found the 10w version had better throw.

Yes, I do but it was red and chromes plated, so the inside threads still have some red anodized which of course is out of sight.
Also it has small flaws (not sure what to call that) as seen below:
