3AA MiniMag Mods

While at walmart today I got myself a 3aa minimag. After getting home and turning it on I have to admit this little thing is bright; maybe as bright or brighter than my 3d maglite with an everled drop in. My only problem with it is that I don't know how to take out the led as it's recessed in the barrel. I want to mod if for better runtime, but I need some help as to how to replace the current led so I don't damage anything. If anybody knows of a drop in replacement that compatible I'd also love to hear of it as well.

I would mod this make to better heatsinking, regulation and brightness, possibly to 2 stage output (at least)

this is a tool I made up to remove the
LED, the damage to the collar was done using 2 screwdrivers, that is why I made this tool.
