3 x 18650 is a lot of freakin juice! Looks pretty cool though. It will probably just be a massive flood of light with unsubstantial throw.

The second one has been getting bad reviews and the first one is of unknown quality, so I'd wait for reviews or but a well reviewed one.

true, but they have damn many batteries, I prefer 18650

You could probably modify them to take 2 18650s. Use 3 correct buck circuits and attach each one to a LED.
