So I am getting around to building a hotwire with an old bored out 2D I picked up a couple of years ago on BST. It came with a KIU socket and an 8AA modamag 2D adapter. I've been reading the incan forums like crazy regarding the 5761 and see that for those using AA rechargeables, 6 is the common number. I want to know if I can use 7 eneloops and a dummy cell in my 8AA adapter if I use the SL12 1R010 thermistor in the tail cap. I dont know how much eneloops sag (I understand not that much) and I want to get the maximum voltage to the bulb as I can without instaflashing. I have done no resistance mods to this 2D light. Anyone done this? I cant find anything in my searching. Incan Gods, enlighten me please.
Thanks

Ok good to know. I didnt know how much wiggle room the NTC would give me. Thanks guys. Maybe I will use 1164 bulbs instead with my 8 eneloops.

Your battery holder is not capable of 5.5 Amps. Even 4 Amps of 1164 is too much and your bulb will never get proper voltage.

Well thats really good to know. Thanks Fivemega! What the heck is this battery holder good for then? ROP? Can I buy one of your sweet battery holders? PM sent.
