Looking for some recommendations for a RCR123a charger. I am buying one of Macs Sceptre's and will be purchasing AW cells, but I have not been able to find a charger that will recharge 6 at a time. I would really like to find a charger that will do 6 at a time if possible. I am open to suggestions about the AW cells vs some other brand but I was told the AW's were good quality.

Mainly I want to buy the best charger for 123's.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Hello JP,

I believe that most of the hobby chargers can charge 6 cells in series, but you would have to figure out a way to balance them. I had LuxLuthor make me up a connecting wire that allows me to parallel 3 cells. I suppose you could ask him if he could make one up for 6 cells.

Here's what I would do if I wanted a 1 charger solution:

if they are all being used in the same device, then they should be in a similar state of charge coming out of the device.

You can charge Li-Ion cells in parallel and they will all balance out perfectly well.

You'll need to build something out of maybe plastic and wire and little contacts and stuff, but it will basically have 6 slots, with the top of all the slots containing a contact all wired together, and the bottom the same. The 2 poles of the cradle would be wired to a hobby/pack charger with a 1 li-ion cell setting with a decent current output, (1A+ for reasonable charge times).

Well I think I am going to buy the Bantam hobby charger not sure which model yet but I am going to give this a run.

Probably gonna blow something up with all this parallel and series, BS, guess I should read and reread the instruction manual when I get it. Thanks for the help guys.
