After some research I decided for an A2 instead of the E2E, thanks to Doug P. of www.flashlightreviews.com for his thorough review of this. So I bought it last 13Dec. It is a good flashlight. However the batteries are almost emptied. I went to where I bought this but Surefire batteries out of stock. Pls help me what is the best substitute battery for my A2, Energizer? Sanyo? or anything?
thanks,
jose

In my experience, the SureFire CR123 batteries is about the only thing that will work with the A2 with its regulation. I've tried other name brands and had so-so results.

You can order 12 batteries online at Surefire.com. I think it's $21 which is $1.75 each.

You can order SureFire cells online, directly from surefire.com, I think they cost $1.75/battery. Energizer, Panasonic and Sanyo are all very good batteries, same runtime as on Surefire cells. I am using Energizer batteries in my Aviator. The price is usally $1.4 - $2, it depends on where you buy them. They cost much more in real stores...

Duracell Ultra's work well but are pricey. You can find them in Wal-mart and Target stores , so they are easy to find. You can order them from Lighthound for 2.25 each.

SureFire, Energizer, Duracell, Rayovac, Panasonic (any american made CR123As). They are all made by Panasonic! I currently have old Energizer with expiration date of 2012 in my A2 and they work very well!

Thanks a lot guys. Im really a newbie on this thing even though I have some MAGs in the past but they were already neglected. This is my first Surefire.
again thanks,
jose

I just picked up an A2 myself. Great light!! I guess I was lucky to get the batterystation special during Christmas on Energizer cr123. $50 for 50 cells including shipping. I think that batterystation batteries are now made in USA so should be good as well!

Never try to save a few pennies and ruin a good light with cheap Chinese batteries!! Use American made and you will be good. :poof:

If you want to go farther, get a battery tester and test the batteries before you put them in so that you will have matching voltages.

Besides the Surefires and Panasonics, I have had very good results with the Streamlight CR123.
