I can't even. I mean I can't even.i remember the issue with zebralight now. i read they use some weird form of pwm. i cannot. stand. pwm. is this true? are they not constant voltage? this seems to imply such. that would be a deal-breaker for me.

well, pwm is always a source of contention between flashlight users. so I'm not even going there. i find it awful in every light I've ever seen it on. if the zebralight is somehow special i might try it as long as it can be returned. but i doubt it's special.haha, the savage of the flashlight niche.

hey have changed. i may give it a try.You can't program it where 3 clicks is always high but you can program it where 1 click is moonlight and a double click is medium. There is a small timing component with zebralights. They are designed to work with a hold, a single click or a double click. 3 clicks will go to a strobe or blink mode and that part cannot change. So if you wana simple ui program 1 click moonlight, 2 clicks medium, hold for high. You can play around with sub modes after that which are a double click once the light is on and in a mode. To ensure you never accidentally go out of moonlight at night you program both modes in the group for 1 click as moonlight modes. That way no matter which moonlight you left it in, it will still be in a moonlight when you click it. It remembers which submode you are in so if you have 2 drastically different sub modes in 1 group you may not get the right one but you can alleviate that by programming it to either litterally only have 3 modes or making a habit of putting it in the lowest or highest submode of each setting depending on what you want it to do. It sounds complicated but it really isnt. It'll take you 5 min to decide what outputs you want, 5 more to program it, and 5 more to have it down. Also no preflash and if you can see pwm in this thing then your eyes must have the highest refresh rate know to man, but I dont think it exists in these. I do remember reading something about it in the old models. I also do not like pwm. I have several 52 and 62 series lights, ive used all the modes and I have never seen so much as a ripple.

Not quite. Once in moonlight another click will turn it off. Once its off you can double click to medium. For your use case I would program 1 click to moonlight and the sub mode of 1 click (double click once it is already on) to another moonlight. That way click 1 always gets a moonlight. I would then program a double click (from off) to be medium with the submode as a low that is >1 lumen. That way double click (from off) will get you a usable amount of light and you can use a double click (while on) to switch it up or down depending on which mode you are in. I would then have hold (from off) be a high with the submode (double click from on) be a lower high. So in function 1 click moon light. 2 clicks(from off) usable light, hold (from off) higher amount of usable light. From any mode 1 single click will turn the light off.maybe t

so to be clear. my typical use case would be this. go to work, use a low/med level for computers, under desks, network closets, etc. then at home i might use it on med/high at night outside with the dog, then in bed I'd use moonlight mode. my preference would be to have a single click always go to moonlight mode. can a second single click cycle modes after that? i assume that's what you meant. click once, turns on to moonlight, click once again switches to medium, hold for a second to activate high? that sounds reasonable if so.
