Farewell our Curmudgeon Administrator
Some time back there was a thread about putting a Inretech AA adapter in a AAA Minimag. We all said no, can't be done. Then INRETECH spoke up and said that early on they had made such and adapter but dropped the idea. I shot my mouth (fingers) off and told him if he'd make a LS adapter for a AAA Minimag I'd buy it.
I'm now the proud owner of Inretech AAA adapter number 1!!!
Notice that half of the reflector is missing. Well maybe not...pic isn't that good! Never the less, this light has practally NO abality to focus. The normal LS collimator will not fit and half of the reflector has to be cut away to clear the led.
Guess which one fits in the AAA MiniMag!
Without a lens to focus with this thing is a VERY wide angle light.
At 6" this thing makes a spot 12" wide! About 90 degrees! And thus a possible disappointment with the light...it appears dim! For those times when a spot light is not needed, this little gem works!
ADDED:
The protractor shows a beam of 120 degrees!
The other real problem is the batteries....AAA's don't last long. Here's the runtime plot:

I'm looking for a 5/8 inch acrylic ball to focus the light and I want to try some NiMH batteries.
Right now, this is a one of a kind light but never fear, I bet'ca Mike at Inretech will make up one if you talk to him REAL nice.
The LS is a push in adapter but unlike the AA adapter, the AAA ( added: adapter) has no lens and requires cutting away about half of the reflector.
Overall....a fun little light!
