I would agree with you but for the fact that my chronic flashaholism has denied me the ability to be satisfied with any one of the lights in my growing collection.

It's a good point, but I don't think that our feeling this way requires any more or less understanding.
I went through something very similar with 4Sevens (now "FOURSEVENS") a few years ago... they promised some amazing lights and tantalized us all for months... and then totally didn't deliver. That was sad and unfortunate, but what really got us was the sudden break in contact. There were weekly and even daily updates leading in... we were all salivating... and then BOOM... silence. So it's not that I'm "mad" at them or anything, it's just a rattling of trust and poor communication. I *love* Zebralight and it is exactly because of this love that I am so excited about these upcoming lights!

I'm sure there are a lot of good reasons they haven't delivered--I mean, we're all TRYING to give them our money! But, I think the answer here is to be very transparent and help us manage expectations. Apple, Inc (love 'em or hate 'em) has taught the entire world one way to do this well: keep everyone in the dark until just before release, and then spring it on 'em.

And if they can take an AA battery and push 200 lumens out of it, or a 18650 for 750 lumens, I'm willing to wait for whatever they have planned next (it just gives me more time to save up for it)

Hello,

Zebralights AA size lights are so small (I have SC50 and H51f) athat I never considered the possibility of them making a AAA light. I'd like to see what it looks like and see what the runtime stats would be.

rumor is that they are having a difficult time keeping up with the orders of present lights, with factory running all the time.
 
I would love a AAA ZL, but would prefer a all flood, neutral HL in the tiniest package possible. Would only need to do 50lm, 10lm and say 0.3lm all regulated (no PWM) this would be a great light for reading, or clipping onto a hat... the AA lights are small, but if you could shrink them 30% they would be fantastic! Also, stick a magnet into the end by default. I would love to see all manufacturers offering small lights with a magnetic option for their small lights

Yes, as I responded earlier, I think ZL could do awesome things with a AAA light. IMO, the best AAA I have is a SS DQG tiny. It's by far the smallest AAA I've ever seen! But the plus is, it has a really nice magnet, machined right in the tailend of the light, and it's extremely handy! Their implementation for a split ring/lanyard attachment left a lot to be desired, but the magnet is great. Also it only has 2 levels, and an optic, but it still is the coolest AAA I have. If ZL made a AAA model, scaled down from the SC51 series, with their awesome UI, I'd buy a boxcar load of them, and stuff 'em everywhere! Lithiums in all the ones that wouldn't see regular use, and Eneloops in the ones used the most. Come on ZL!!!!!!! :devil:
 
I would like to have a Zebralight AAA light too. I have been searching forever for a great AAA light but the lights out there are just incomplete. Twisty lights are nice and small but require too many twists to change modes. Tail-clickie lights are too long. And none has the UI, efficiency, and choices of tint Zebralight offers with their lights. I say we start emaling Zebarlight with requests.
 
Even though I'm not a Zebralight fan, I think that the AA model is already quite small, so they don't really need to go to a smaller battery capacity.
I don't think that size is a problem for Zebralight. And they have a good circuit for Eneloops.
Zebralight's main problem is their extremely poor switch, which they really seem to be attached to, for some unknown reason. Also, I think their overly complex UI is falling behind the times, and just doesn't match up to the latest rotary controls from the competition.
IMO, they need to dump their switch, and move to rotary control, which would get rid of their major flaw, and also add a desired feature at the same time.
 
Extremely poor switch? I tought those electronic switches were almost unbreakeble. If they put a mecanical switch in the light, it will have to be mutch larger. Maby thats why they stick with elecronic switches - size. The ui is not complex if you dont want it to be. Push and hold the button and it will go lo, med, hi. Just let go when youre at the brightness you want. it's all done in one click. Can't be simpler than that, or can it?
 
You would think that someone who is not a Zebralight fan would stay out of threads about Zebralights, but no the individual above just can't help himself. Critizing lights you don't even own and have no first-hand knowledge only makes you look foolish.

lol, take it easy.

I'd like to see a aaa light from zl also. with a energizer l92 (.3 oz) it might make a good light to clip to runners shirt collar. maybe a serac s3 type wire clip. solid, light, but no screw mount points if you wanted to remove it, just a groove.
 
Old thread, but I just thought about an AAA Zebralight for some reason today. It would be interesting to see this. But like someone said, the SC52 is small enough. Still, I'd like to see a...SC42?
 
I would be interested. Give me the lows and mediums of the SC52, with an appropriate selection of high levels to match battery capacity, and I'm in.
