hi all

juste by curiosity, no reviews of fenix P3d Q5 exist for this time ? with graphs ?

it's 220 lumens (fenix infos) no ?... ho my good !!!

thank

I haven't heard a thing about it, but that would be pretty nifty.

I'm hoping they at least skip the Q5 and wait for the R4 or better Bin.

You could get you P3D-CE modded to a Q5.

ok thx you WadeF, and with rechargeable CR123 ?
i love the Chevrofreak work, he is very professional !!

OK, I'm missing something here. I do not see a P3D with Q5 sold in the Fenix Store nor do I see a Custom lights section where I can order these. Is this something I can order offline from David?

Click on the Upgrades/Parts/Acc section under Categories.
(not one of the subsections)

You have to select either a Q2 or Q5 LED AND the Mod service.

Hmm, L2D Q5... And how does the Q5 color tint generally compare to the Rebel again?

I think it compares favorably. The Q5 is really a very nice color. The Rebel is also nice when it's driven hard but for a wide range of outputs the Q5 seems to be more consistant and therefore more flexible.

After having read countless threads and from my own experience the Rebel seems to be a little more on the warmer side, which I personally prefere to the cooler tint of the Crees.

when i can see the fenix cree R1 ? the end of year ?

you know if the excelent 4seven will add the futur R1 led on his fenix flashlight before the end of year ?

And you have a little pronostic for the lumens / lux power with that, mounted on Fenix P3D model ? better than Q5 ?

if i wait always the new generation of led..... lol

i have L1D CE for this time, 114 lumens, i love the fenix quality.

thx you

R4? We'll be lucky to see a R1 by the end of the year, but with these LED's and the advances they are making, you never know. :)

okay, R1 sorry yes, it's edited :)

Maybe the p3d q5 is more powerfull with RC123 (rechargeable cr123 3,7v ) ?

The way the P3D's circuit has been explained to me, a change in voltage from 6v, to 8v, to 12v, etc, shouldn't effect the max output.

Now, a Q5 in a P1D, P2D, could run into problems if they are using the same driver circuit they used for the P4's, etc. If you get a Q5 with a higher VF, it's possible the single CR123 wouldn't provide enough voltage and the Q5 wouldn't be any brighter than the P4, or whatever it replaced. At least this is how someone explained swappnig Q5's with a high VF for a lesser bin with a lower VF.
