Another "Which light to buy?" thread

I have a friend, young female, who is going to Haiti on a medical mission. I'd like to give her a flashlight to take with her. My budget is around $30. I really like the Fenix L2D-CE light and form factor, specially the use of easily available AA batteries. But it's about double the amount of my budget. What else is out there thats got good output, multiple modes, uses 2XAA, is reasonably priced, and is simple and quick to obtain?

A little cheaper than the L2D would be the L2T v2.0 w/Q2 for $44.11 shipped (after CPF8 discount).


How quick do you need it? It might be very difficult to get a lot of lights to you if they are not sold out of the US. Would you prefer to buy locally?
